Private Individuals Training
The entry point for a first-time firearm owner. Firearm law plus the unit standards you need for a competency certificate.
Everything starts here. Before SAPS will consider a competency certificate, you need accredited training on the Firearms Control Act and on each category of firearm you intend to licence. This course delivers both, in one sitting.
Training runs in person at our Klerksdorp facility, which has a dedicated study zone and an on-site shooting range. We can also bring the course to your site or a range near you.
Instructors adjust the pace per person. A complete beginner and an experienced shooter can train in the same room without either being held back.
- 01Explain the rights and duties created by the Firearms Control Act
- 02Store, transport and carry a firearm within the law
